JEFFREY CASTILLO
"You don't have the guts to be what you wanna' be! You need people like me so you can point your f***in' fingers and say, 'That's the bad guy!"
-Tony MONTANA
The power of your thoughts is real. Be wary of your thoughts.
Thoughts become things.
In 2001, at the age of 17 he married his high school sweetheart. He decided not to enroll in college and instead focused on launching his own studio; Castle Creations. In 2003, he bootstrapped his first online publication, DaSportsRush.com, within 6 months it became one of the top online sports publications in Texas. For the first three months, he was the only employee and served as the web developer, journalist, photographer, videographer and sales team. In 2005, he closed down his publication to pursue his passion for filmmaking and enrolled at Texas A&M international as a college freshman. While in college he launched his first successful profitable company, an Import-Export Trucking company out of Laredo, Texas. In 2008, he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and a minor in Marketing. His Senior thesis paper was a 100 page blueprint on Web 2.0 and the evolution of Massive Multiplayer Online games; World of Warcraft and other Virtual Social worlds i.e. Myspace, Bebo, The Facebook (facebook, Meta).
After graduating college he reopened his studio under the name Digital Republic. From the year 2009 to 2015 he is credited as the photographer in over 48 Magazine Covers, including photographed artists like Lil Wayne, Drake, and the group LMFAO. During the same time period he filmed and Directed various TV commercials and music videos for underground artists. His work first appeared on national Television in 2010 on MTV, Telemundo and Univision with a music video that was shot with zero budget (Chicano by Scheme).
Digitaljeff became one of the pioneers in mobile live-streaming and made history by producing the first ever mobile live streaming show on an iPhone. The show was hosted with Al Roker in New York City. Over 50,000 people tuned in from their iPhones. In March of 2015 he became a Top-10 mobile live-streamer, alongside Jimmy Fallon, Gary Vaynerchuk, Lady Gaga and Ashton Kutcher. His livestream use cases have now been mass adopted on all social media platforms by 100s of millions of live-streamers. He is the only person to have personally interviewed Gary Vaynerchuk at a Jets Game, November 2015.
In late 2015, Digitaljeff pioneered the “Cinematic Podcast Format”; a strategy that was created to compete against The Joe Rogan Experience and Impact Quest, which at the time were the only online podcasts that had significant influence. In 2016, he moved to New York City, and launched the online show Leaders Create Leaders, Hosted by Gerard Adams and in partnership with Entrepreneur Magazine and YouTube TV. The show format was a first of its kind and created a blueprint for thousands of other online shows. Many notable influencers were first interviewed on LCL including Lewis Howes, Gary Vaynerchuk, Andy Frisella, Grant Cardone, Arvin Lal, Christan Guzman, Greg Yuna, Tom Bilyeu and Jake Paul. Within 6 months of launching, LCL generated over 10 Million views on YouTube. Although the format was innovative it failed on one of the most important things, scalability.
